DESCRIPTION

University of Lahej Journal of Applied Sciences and Humanities is an open access and electronic journal. The journal covers applied sciences in the field of medicine and engineering, physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, agriculture, and computer sciences. It also covers the humanities, which include social sciences, psychological, philosophy, arts, literature, and education. University of Lahej Journal of Applied Sciences and Humanities publishes research papers that are well written and distinguished for all researchers all over the world. It can be published in both English and Arabic, and the journal publishes its issues Semi- Annual. One of the most important aims of the journal is to present the products presented by researchers in the fields of applied sciences and humanities. It further aims to achieve constructive communication between scientists and specialists while following up on all new developments in applied sciences and humanities.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS:

  1. University of Lahej Journal of Applied Sciences and Humanities, A Refereed Semi- Annual Journal issued by Lahej University. 

  2. The Journal publishes refereed research articles in the Applied Sciences and Humanities fields.

  3. Two types of contributions are considered for publication: 

    • Research paper. 

    • Short communication (short communications should normally not exceed three published pages).

  4. Each manuscript must be clearly written on a computer (Times New Roman and 12 size) using double spacing, and wide (3 cm) margins.  

  5. The researcher shall send PDF file including the word file. 

  6. All correspondence, including notifications and requests for revision, should be sent by E-mail. 

  7. The manuscript must not exceed 18 pages including the tables, figures, photographs, and references on Sciences fields, and 26 pages on Humanities fields. 

  8. The manuscript should be divided into the following sections: 

    • Title, Authors, Affiliations, and Abstract (not more than 300 words), immediately after the abstract provide a maximum of 6 keywords. The abstract should be structural (divide it into- Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion).

    • Introduction.

    • Materials and methods of the research.

    • Results and Discussion.

    • Conclusions.

    • Acknowledgements (if any). 

    • References.

  9. Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2,), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering).

  10. All tables must include titles and description at the top that interpret their contents and must be numbered serially according to its place in the manuscript.

  11. All figures should include relevant captions written at the bottom of each and must be numbered serially according to its place in the manuscript. 

  12. All figures and tables in the attached file for the journal should include the same reference numbers of those embedded in the text. 

  13. Supplemental files (where applicable).

  14. A cover letter should be submitted with all submissions. The cover letter should confirm that the article is original and unpublished, and it is not being or have been submitted for publication to any other journal and that all the authors have read the paper and agree with its submission to the Journal of Applied Sciences and Humanities.

  16. To cover the above expenses in addition to mail expenses authors in Yemen outside the University of Lahej are kindly requested to pay an amount of 25000 YR (Twenty five thousand Yemeni Rials) to cover some of the expenses of publishing, reviewing and editorial charges. Authors outside Yemen are kindly requested to pay 100 $ (One hundred US Dollars) to be sent to the “University of Lahej Journal of Applied Sciences and Humanities” AC. No.(1003-0124620 ), Central Bank of Yemen – Lahej Branch, Lahej, Republic of Yemen.

  18. If the researcher requests to withdraw his article and does not want to follow the publishing procedures, he is required to pay the cost of reviewing the paper.

  20. The Editorial Board reserves all rights to make grammatical or stylistic changes. 

  21. Scientific (Latin) names of the Biology must be written in italics, so as to distinguish them from the remaining of the text.

  22. The chemical's material should be given their common names and not their commercial ones.

  23. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).

  24. Use of the DOI is highly encouraged.

  25. Please note the format of such citations should be in the same style as all other references in the paper.

  26. The journal follows APA 6 style for the references documentation (American Psychological Association, APA 6).So please check APA style guidelines and instructions before submit your manuscript.

  27. List references should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary.
